All Aboard! Workshops – We are offering 6 fabulous workshops for your 2026 Barbie® journey. Classes will go on sale in the online store on January 10, 2026 at 12pm CST. Spaces are limited.

Ric Markin – SEW-FREE TRAVEL IN STYLE

FASHION ENSEMBLE

​

Ric’s business, Capitol Designs, hosts a range of 

design and collector services. His formal art training

provides the foundation for his work from designing

gallery displays, distinctive fashion styles, to toy

prototypes. Ric has presented many workshops for

Barbie® convention and is known for his handbags,

miniature florals, millinery, and entertaining vignettes.

In this workshop you’ll make your very own “Sew-Free” fashion with coordinating pieces for a

classic vintage or Silkstone™ body. Don’t know how to sew? Not a problem, as these pieces are

created by you with no sewing skills needed.

* Participants should bring a pair of small to medium fabric scissors. You are also welcome to bring a doll to wear your creation.

​

Cost is $30 per student – Class size is limited to 20 students.

Deborah Pippin Wess – BARBIE® BAUBLES FOR YOU!

​

Deborah has been making gorgeous Barbie® bling since 2012. She has loved Barbie® since 

receiving her first doll in 1963 as a gift from her dad. Deborah is also a member of your host club – The Tampa Bay Pink Pirates, as well as Tickled Pink in Ventura County.

​

In this workshop you will create a one-of-a-kind Barbie® necklace to wear to all the Barbie®

functions on your travels. Deborah will furnish all supplies needed.

​

Cost is $45 per student – Class size is limited to 20 students.

Ellen Ansok – A BEADED BAG FOR GAL ON THE GO

​

Ellen Ansok is a charter member of both Tickled Pink in Ventura County (California) and Pink in the Heart of Texas. She has been teaching crafts for over 25 years. Beadweaving without a loom has been a lifetime passion. And when she couldn’t find a purse for a Barbie® outfit, she made one. Now, she is going to teach you.

​

In this hands-on workshop participants will be learning the basics of odd-count peyote bead

weaving to make a beaded purse for their Barbie® doll. You will choose your colors and strap

length. You will have many designs to choose from – stripes, flowers, two-tone or solid.

​

* Each student will need to bring a pair of scissors, optional – magnifying lens, battery

operated light. Don’t forget your favorite doll to test purse styles on!

​

Cost is $30 per student - Class size is limited to 15 students.

Brooke Jones – JET-SETTING IN STYLE

​

From Sydney, Australia, you may know Brooke Jones, from Instagram as @barbie.boulevardier.

Brooke has a background in fashion design and patternmaking, so she loves to use these skills

making wonderful items for Barbie® and her world.

​

Every jet-setting doll knows that the key to arriving in style is a set of matched luggage. In this

class you will learn the techniques to craft an eye-catching suitcase for Barbie® doll. This

non-functional 1:6 scale includes a beautiful suitcase crafted entirely from card stock.

​

* Participants should bring an Exacto knife, small pair of scissors, cutting mats and steel ruler.

 

Cost is $30 per student – Class size is limited to 25 students.

Debbra Florey – STYLISH GLAMPIN’ BY THE FIRE

​

Debi and her husband Flip – flipndebicreate - run an Etsy store featuring 3D Mid Century

Modern furniture in 1/6th scale for Barbie® and her friends. Debi loves workshops and is

pleased to be presenting for a second time.

​

In this workshop, you will create a MCM deck chair that Barbie® can throw into the camper for

glampin’ in style everywhere she goes. All supplies are included.

​

Cost is $30 per student – Class size is limited to 30 students.

Melissa Ulhorn – WINDOW SHOPPING IN STYLE

​

Melissa has presented several workshops over the years. She is a retired Library Director and

long-time crafter and Barbie® enthusiast.

​

Strolling the streets of her vacation destination, Barbie® spies a shop with cute sidewalk appeal.

Of course, she’s going to stop in to see what treasures await! In this workshop, you will create

a shopfront window display and sidewalk.

​

* Participants should bring scissors and hobby knife, (e.g. X-ACTO® knife)

​
