In addition to all the special themed events, there will be workshops scheduled throughout the Convention! Workshop purchases go on sale January 19, 2025, in the Online Store at BConventions.com. No workshop purchases will be available on site. Workshop class size is limited, and some workshops require students to bring their own tools and/or materials. Please read the below Workshop descriptions for more information.

 

Hair Up-do Workshop

Wednesday 1:00pm

Limited to 25 students per class

Cost: $30

Jeff Bouchard will demonstrate how to style a doll with a stunning chic up-do. To participate in the workshop students will need to bring 1 or 2 Barbie® dolls with long hair. All other materials will be provided.

 

Barbie® Purses Workshop

Wednesday 1:00pm

Limited to 25 students per class

Cost: $30

Ric Martin will demonstrate how to create Barbie® doll-sized purses. To participate in the workshop, students will need to bring scissors to cut paper and fabric. All other materials will be provided.

 

Adult Jewelry Workshop

Wednesday 1:00pm or Saturday 10:30am

Limited to 30 students per class

Cost: $30

Shirley Nakawatase will demonstrate how to create handmade jewelry. All materials needed to participate in the workshop will be provided.

 

Barbie® Jewelry Workshop

Thursday 9:00am or Friday 2:30pm

Limited to 30 students per class

Cost: $25

Debra Van Dyke will demonstrate how to create handmade Barbie® doll-sized jewelry. To participate in the workshop, students will need to bring a pair of round/needle nosed jewelry pliers. All other materials will be provided.

 

Barbie® Hats Workshop

Thursday 9:00am or Friday 2:30pm

Limited to 20 students per class

Cost: $50

Susan Simmons will demonstrate how to create handmade Barbie® doll-sized hats. To participate in the workshop, students will need to bring scissors to cut paper and fabric. All other materials will be provided.

 

Hair Rerooting Workshop

Thursday 9:00am: Rerooting with Saran hair

Thursday 3:00pm: Rerooting with Crimped hair

Saturday 10:30am: Rerooting with Curly hair

Limited to 30 students per class

Cost: $60

Diana and Seth Grasteit will be demonstrating how rerooting Barbie® doll hair with new doll hair from Doll Planet Hair is easy to learn and fun to do to revive, restyle, and reimagine your Barbie® dolls. To participate in this workshop, students will need to bring a Barbie® doll that has been de-haired, ready to reroot. All other materials will be provided.

 

Pattern-making Workshop

Thursday 3:00pm or Friday 2:30pm

Limited to 20 students per class

Cost: $20

George Sarofeen will demonstrate how to draft a sewing pattern for a Barbie® doll fashion. To participate in the workshop, students will need to bring a nude Barbie® doll, and scissors to cut paper and fabric. All other materials will be provided.

 

Painting Workshop

Thursday 3:00pm

Limited to 25 students per class

Cost: $40

Jen Mirc will demonstrate how to paint an adult-sized painting featuring a Fashion ICON. All materials needed to participate in the workshop will be provided.
